One thing after another!
It just seems to be one thing after another since I had my surgery. Four days after surgery I started with a high fever. My doctor sent me to have a pelvic CT scan where I had to drink some horrible juice and was injected with the dye for contrast. Everything appeard okay on the scan so I saw her the next day in her office. She did a urine test and it turned out I had a bladder infection. I was put on Cipro and Flagyl. Between the juice I drank for the CT scan and the antibiotics, my bowels became very loose.
Last Friday, four weeks after surgery, I was back in the office with pain. My doctor was on call at the hospital so she had one of the other doctors examine me. He sent me over to the hospital for blood work, a clean urine test (where they use a catheter to extract the urine) and yet another CT scan, again with contrast - but no nasty juice this time. Since my doctor was on call, they gave her the results as soon as they had them and she came down to the ER to see me. Turns out I now have an inflamed bowel. Could have been caused from the surgery or from the antibiotics. She told me to see my gastro doc.
I see the gastro doc tomorrow but I spoke with his assistant prior to booking the appointment. I have colonoscopies every three years and the last one was almost two years ago. He said they will probably schedule another one after they see me tomorrow.
I have been poked and prodded so much in the past few months and now I have another procedure to look forward to. And the worst thing is, I escaped the bowel prep for my hsterectomy, but there's no escaping it for a colonoscopy.
I just wish everything would all be healed and over with so I can get back to normal.
Thanks for letting me vent.

I know how you feel,i have had 5 ct with all the contrast drink and injections,x ray and vaginal sonos. I am like,is there and end to this nightmare? I have cuff problems, not healing and weak on left edge, still bleeding. It does get so drepressing and feels like you will never be well. But I know we can't be sick all the time,at some point we will be well. Just wish it would come now don't you? Keep me posted,we can share problem stories, compare notes and who knows may stumble across info that could be the turning point for us!

One thing after another!
I feel like i just constantl y complain, but I guess its "venting" . I have had abdominal pain for about 2 weeks now. I felt better post op. I went to my Dr last week for my 6 weeker and she said I was fine and gave me some more pain meds and sent me on my way. Today I was in a lot of pain and wentt to see her. She kinda blew me off again, but this time she had me pee in a cup. Well sure enough I have a UTI. If I had peed in a cup last week maybe I would feel better today. I hope the Cipro takes care of my pain. Meanwhile, after 1 pill I have peed buckets...I probably had pee buildup hehehe.......We should start a thread to complain about drs.

Oh boy, then I would be the first to complain!! Yes a uti can be miserable, and you do get a build up. In 24 hours after starting meds you should feel relief. Even with the drs you like and that are good, you still have to stay on top of your care or you just become another chart in a pile somewhere. I push, push, call and call, nicely till my health is at risk then I get angry. Hope you feel better soon. Keep me up to date!
