new bleeding after 2 weeks

Hello Sisters!

I am a 46 year old from the West Coast of the US.

So, recovery was going great... for 2 weeks (lap assisted surgery with ovaries, tubes and cervix taken on Feb. 28) , then yesterday I started bleeding and the pain is back to where it was at day 3 or 4. I figure I must have busted a stitch or two. I was supposed to go in for my two week post op appt today, but the doctor called and cancelled and now I am wondering if I should be worried. I have not bled more than a pad, though a lot comes out when I go to the bathroom.

I didn't do anything that I can think of to hurt myself. I have been getting plenty of rest, have avoided lifting heavy objects and have only done some walking. I admit that I have been quite anxious over what is happening in Japan. but I doubt anxiety can cause this sort of bleeding.

I am also hating not being able to drive!

Re: new bleeding after 2 weeks

I would call your dr tomorrow just to be safe. Could be just some pooling of blood from the surgery.

Re: new bleeding after 2 weeks

Zanny, call and describe what's going on.

I was fine till 2 weeks as well. I started to bleed, (reddish, brown, pink, orangey ... all colours!) . Many times I thought it stopped only to start up again!

Then, success! at 6 weeks and 2 days .. it stopped!

I had called my doctor and he said as long as it's not like a period or heavy, it's okay. He didn't seem worried about the rainbow of colours. He said that he thought it may be a hematoma on the vag. cuff and it has to heal. If it doesn't, by the time I see him, he would cauterize it.

Calling will ease your mind!
