Stand up to rude doctors

This goes back several years and a OBGYN doctor. I had moved to a new city and friend recommended her friend and doctor to me, since I was having problems. I had seen him several times over a couple of years and every seemed ok at the time. I was working as a paralegal for a horrid attorney who loved to put me down to make herself feel better. So I was under a lot of stress at work and my husband was working nights and I never saw him. I was working full time for the devil, taking care of two children plus no relationship with my husband. So, I was just in a awful place in my life.

I had a normal check up with this doctor. I was a few months out from knee surgery, which he knew about. I had gained a little weight during that injury. So, he comes in the room, makes some small talk while doing the exam. I sit up, he asked how everything else is going and I tell him about the stress at home and work and how I had not been able to exercise with the knee injury. He said, "well you have gained "x" amount of pounds since you were here last. But the weather is getting nice and the exercise will help the stress." I said, " I know, and sex is also a good stress relief. But with my husband working nights I am not getting any of that either."

The doctor says, " we'll maybe if you lost "x" amount of pounds, you would have more sex."

OMG, I started crying....Of course. The room I was in was close to the waiting room. And I just LOST IT. He starts trying to say he was just joking. I told him, in the loudest voice I could, to pick up my ****ing chart and get the **** out of my room! I got dressed and left. His nurse, up front staff said ....I'm so sorry, he is such a ***

He called 5 times before I got to work. Telling me I needed to be on a antidepressant ! And of course I told him again what I thought of him!

So, this is why I do not hold doctors up as these Gods they think they are. Ladies, stand up for yourself. They are just people, just like you. For me, they have to earn respect. It is not given because they have letters after their name. And I don't mind telling them as much. You are just as important to the world as they are! Don't let them push you around.

See the post "post op my story" posted a few days ago. What happened to this sista and my advise to her.

FYI I'm 11 days out from a TVH with an amazing FEMALE doctor. Who has my respect!
