Question about continuing daily exercise

I have been reading about restarting exercise routines after the operation but what about prior to the operation? I normally do 50 situps a day but some of my friends are telling me I really should not be cutting back. Any thoughts on that?

Question about continuing daily exercise

My Dr told me to continue with my routine of exercise, I have increased my crunches to atleast 200 from 50 to 100 before, wanting to build up as much muscle as possible before my surgery

Hope this helps

Question about continuing daily exercise

Hi. I am wondering how you guys do sit-ups being in pain. I am 4 months post recovery from a cesarean and planning a hyst for adenomyosis in June.... I have tried to get back into sit-ups (or crunches rather) and it triggers my pain a lot more. Any tips for avoiding this with a gentler exercise?

Question about continuing daily exercise

I will continue my 20-50 miles a week running up until my surgery. Right now, it is the only thing keeping me sane- the endorphins dull the pain.

Ellie, I do my ab work after cardio- I've ususally got the endorphins flowing so good by then, I don't feel the pain.

Question about continuing daily exercise

Thanks!! I really appreciate that. I have been a religious exerciser up until a few months ago. Walking aggravates the pain, but I think if I do more maybe those endorphines will do their thing. I trained for a half marathon a year ago, though. Even though it didn't hurt during the training, I tip-toed around the house and could hardly do any work for the rest of the day. Do you ever have this kind of trouble?

I still think the extra pain would be worth a faster recovery...especially since I'm only a month and a half away from my hyst. Prolonged surgery pain is always worse than a bad day with adeno.
