Im Home!!!
Hello Ladies,
I am home. Very sore from overdoing it yesterday, and sleepy from the screaming of a woman in labor for 2 hours in night, but home and happy.
The waiting is the hardest part. Listen to the nurses but PLEASE dont push yourself too hard. I did yesterday and have been paying for it since. Oh and the gas pains are a real joy....NOT!!
I am going to bed now, to catch up on about 30 hours of sleep....Take care....

Im Home!!!
Happy to hear it, I've been looking for my former bc sister to let us know how she's doing. Sorry about the lack of sleep at the hospital, but now that your home sleep, and rest, two most important tips for healthy recovery.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, please take care.

I'm so glad you're home and doing well Kat. The more I hear good stories from returning princesses, the better I feel.
I hope your recovery is a speedy one.
Take care and get lots of rest.

Im Home!!!
Thanks Ladies, it is wonderful to be home...
Samson, all I did was get up and walk around. I had visitors, one bought me coffee and stole me for a quick drive cuz I was going nuts...:-)) Then my mom came, sat for awhile and then my family came. I was a busy lil girl, running here and there. Had not much pain, just wanted to get things moving. By 4:30 I thought I was gonna die....I was afraid to ask for pain meds because I wanted out of there today.
You wont know if youve overdone it until you hurt so bad. And it doesnt seem to come on gradually. With me, I sat on my bed, moved to get in, i have one lil owie spot that always seems to hurt, and that did it. When that spot started hurting, I just wanted to cry...EVERYTHING hurt then.
Take SHORT walks, and lots of rests. Dont do the long walk thing, thinking you can. Listen to your body. The first night all I could do was shuffle across the room. The next day I was all over the hospital. But then I was up walking during the night.
Take care everyone....
Hugs
Kat

I still have a hard time believing they put us with those having children. I don't think I want to be recovering after losing my uterus around women giving birth. How unfair is that! (Not that I want any more children - but imagine those who don't have children having to go through that).

I didnt have a real big problem with the childbirth thing, first place I walked was to see the babies!! But then I am a sucker....I can see women who dont have babies being really upset. I started crying in the night, but think it was more out of exhaustion than being upset.
The worst part was, they are renovating the hospital. We supposedly are getting a new one but they are renovating and moving Peds in with Mat. I really didnt care the day of or day after surgery but I am quite positive a couple workers probably got to see more of me than they wanted. It is very difficult to be ladylike and dignified when no part of your body wants to move properly! And the nurses didnt want to shut the door so they could keep tabs on me.

Im Home!!!
Welcome Home, I loved being on the happiest floor in the hospital, but I can understand those that have never had children and wanted them. As for me, I went home with flowers and no uterus and I have never been more happy in my whole entire life, except when I was a kid and didnt know about all this crap....Hugs and recovery, I am 9 days post op and I feel like I could rule the world but I cant and thats the hardest part, I get tired, darn....Keep up the good work, I am going to shower and go for a walk in the beautiful sunshine....Princess D

Hi Kat -
The hospital is the WORST place to try to get any rest or sleep!
I didn't know they put us with the maternity patients. I guess it won't matter to me. But, I can see how it would be difficult for some women. My DIL can't have children, due to an early menopause, and may be facing a hyserectomy someday. This will be very hard for her, I know it.
Take it easy, and slow down! LOL. I think if you take it easy at first, recovery will be quicker in the long run. That is my experience from other surgeries.

I asked for the mater. floor!!!!!!!!!
when i had my surg. I requested the mater. floor. Its the happiest floor in the whole hospital, and nurses are not ususally as overworked as the med surg. floors. I heard babies being born all around me. It didnt bother me at all. The screaming ladies in labor, well..... been there done that twice, and I can totally feel their pain, childbirth is the worst pain I ever experianced. I can although understand why some ladies would not want to be on that floor. Its a very personal decision. You are a new princess so rest and drink water and get pampered. you only have one chance to do this right, carol
