Day 9 post op DvH and have no control of bladder

Day 9 and still suffering. Day 5 hit with severe bladder spasms and bladder infection. Yesterday, day 8, I lost all control of bladder and am having to wear 2 incontinence pads at the same time and change them almost ever hour. I've tried the kiegel exercises but can't even feel anything to squeeze to start and stop the pee stream.

Is this normal??? Does this improve with time and did anyone else experience this? I go back for post op tomorrow and I'm afraid of what he might say regarding bladder/organ prolapse.

I'm supposed to return to work on July 2nd and at this point, I just don't see how.

Still not sleeping more than 2-3 hours at a time during the night. Cut back to half pain pill during the daytime, but full ones at night.

Re: Day 9 post op DvH and have no control of bladder

SunLover66,

Do you feel the need to urinate or do you have a near constant stream of urine? Are you still on antibiotics? Please don't try to stop your urine midstream, it is not a healthy way to do Kegels.

It is possible you have developed a fistula but only your doctor can diagnose this so don't panic. Here is the link to an article describing a fistula https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/article_443417.htm

Let us know what your doctor says. Sending you
