Making Reservations for the Castle...

I am not sure of the scheduling of the castle. I feel like I'm in a little bit of a pickle...

I work with clients where the program year ends June 30th and the new program year begins July 1st. Usually the first Monday after 4th of July is a week-long of mandatory training.

So here's the situation- any imput would be greatly appreciated!

As I shared the upcoming hysterectomy with my supervisors they suggested the best time for my work is as soon as possible.. like next month in May. (I would prefer the beginning of May)

However... my DH is in the middle of a MAJOR work project that won't be completed until the end of May. (He may not be able to help me out much Post Op) Plus my daughter is graduating high school on 5/25.

My hope is the have surgery the beginning of May...am I being selfish? As a Christian I feel like this is an opportunity for me to rely on Jesus to meet my needs where my DH wouldn't be able to.

Any input greatly appreciated!

Re: Making Reservations for the Castle...

Wow! There are so many factors here it is no wonder you are having a hard time deciding.

The fact that your daughter is pretty independent is a huge benefit. She might even be able to help. It also matters whether or not you will have an abdominal incision.

I was okay on my own after three days, so if you can schedule the surgery for Thursday, you will probably be released Friday. That means you will have people around for the weekend. If you are not okay on your own then, the extra day or two of help from your family shouldn't throw too much of a monkey wrench in their lives.

If you are having a graduation party for your daughter, will you have help?

Re: Making Reservations for the Castle...

Thanks for the input! I've been kind of stressing about the castle date next month as I don't want to be selfish with my hubby's work project and all.

My daughter doesn't live with me, she lives my parents. You could say we're like water and oil but it's starting to smooth out better.
As for her graduation party, she hasn't made it much of an interest. If there is one most likely it would be at my parents' home and I would buy the party stuff.

I'm hoping for a call this week for my castle reservations and I can't wait!
