Heat intolerance, hot flashes

I was having hot flashes prior to surgery because of medication that was used to try to reduce the size of my fibroids – didn’t work for me. They had almost completely stopped by the time I had my surgery. I assume that the medication used was enough out of my system at that point. I knew I could expect some menopausal symptoms for a time after my surgery as the ovaries are still there but are traumatized from the surgery and can take a bit to wake up. It seems that the hot flashes are almost gone but I am sweating at the drop of a hat. I feel like I just can’t take any temperature above 70, and some days even less. It is not like flashing, it is a constant. Living in “Hotlanta” and the humidity here, ugh. Now I am having to change my clothes and bathe more often because of the sweat. Ugh. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Hugs
Kathy

Heat intolerance, hot flashes

I had the hot flashes and night sweats before surgery as well as after. I keep a small fan next to my bed on the night stand for when I get them. However, my gyn. that did my surgery gave me samples of a low estrogen pill (cenestin .3mg) to see if it helps until my ovaries work better. It really has helped. It is nice not breaking out in a big sweat night or day just because I fall asleep or do something active. Perhaps you can try and see if it helps. Ophelia
