How thick is your scar?
I am 8 months out from my hysterectomy, vertical incision and I am not happy with the way it looks at all. I also had a slight bulge on one side of the incision at first, but that has since gone away. My only complaint (and I know I shouldn't have this one as I know others have gone through much much worse) is how awful it still looks. It is a ugly purple-blueish color and is raised at the bottom. Just ugly...anyone know what to put on it at this point? I have tried the scar therapy strips and some vitamin e but admittedly haven't tried them for long.

How thick is your scar?
Sothankful, I had a vertical cut...bellybutton down to middle of pubic line.
Yipee, the right side of my incision is indented and where the swelly belly starts, right above the pubic line.
Ladies, I hope you're all feeling well and that your scars diminish and you feel better about them. Most of all I wish you much continued health and lots of love,
Lilli

my scar
I have a horizontal, hair line incision. The scar was barely noticeable from the second day. I was held together with 13 staples. There is still some redness from the staple marks. The scar is perfectly straight and even. It feels thick, at first about the thickness of my thumb, like a cord, but that too is getting less all the time and at the ends is nearly gone.

I really overdid it today girls. I shopped too long. No bleeding but I am bushed. Little bulge is a bit bigger because of it no doubt.
I have been wrapping the kids gifts and my belly is burning. I will hit the sack. Enjoy the wk/end and let yourselves be taken care of. : bliss:

How thick is your scar?
Happy Holidays!
I have a horizontal bikini cut that is about 6 1/2 inches long. Its not centered as it is closer to me right hip than my left. The scar is thin and dark at 5 1/2 weeks. I have a firm feeling above the scar. (scar tissue?) My dh says I have an extra smile above the incision. I think it would be called swelly belly if it were more pronounced. It gets worse at the end of the day especially if I'm active.

How thick is your scar?
I have a horizontal incision that is flat, redish purple and still fairly sensitive. Sometimes it still itches on the interior side! I have been somewhat faithfully putting vitamin E on it. My doctor said that the scar minimizer ointments do nothing other than provide money to the pharmacutical companies, but he is not the one with the scar. Any luck ladies, with a scar treatment?
