Surgery Report Questions

I just got a copy of my surgery report and pathology report (I know, I know, what took me so long??!!). I finally gathered up enough courage to get it! I had to sign a release form and then the GYN's office e-mailed them to me! How great is that!

Anyway, it doesn't say anywhere on it that I can decipher, how long the surgery was. Does your report say this?

I have lots of questions about it, and I'll have to make an appointment to ask my GYN, but here's one I thought maybe someone else had encountered.

My report says: "The uterosacral cardinal ligament complexes were cross clamped, cut and suture ligated and tagged for future vaginal support."

So, I know that the ligaments hold everything up, but does this mean that something was done in my surgery to help support the vagina now that the uterus and cervix etc. are gone? Or does the work "future" mean for some future surgery?

JanaBailey, There are acually a total of 6 ligaments (3 on each side) that are cut from uterus, then attached to our vagina to support it so it won't prolapse.

I'm sorry I don't know much about all this, but there are articles in the post op articles about the Pathology Report and the Surgery Reports . I hope some of this will help you in reading and deciphering yours.
