frustrated and mad!
Well here I was telling everyone that I was just fine, I couldn't even tell that I had surgery. Wake-up call!!!! This morning I felt like I was hit by a truck.
I have been resting a lot, but have been doing light house work. I guess it's too much because my stomach is killing me! Aches and pains like the first day home. My Dr. said that I could go back to work in 2 weeks which is this Thursday, but I'm a stay at home mom, so my work is the house and I cant even do that!
I know it takes time to recover, but the Davinci robot was suppose to be easier that this. Not to mention I have my daughters birthday this Friday with 8 girls coming over.
My husband is great, but is seems to think that I will be back to "normal" in another week. And even the kids seem to think I can spring back into gear. It's my body that doesn't agree!
I don't want any set backs but I HATE not being 100%

frustrated and mad!
Dear Angie -
It's so hard to be patient to feel better. But it is true that you can set yourself back by doing too much. I found that bending over was the worst!
Perhaps a friend or a Mom of one of the party guests could come and play host for you this Friday.
Is it a financial option to hire out a housecleaning even once or twice?
My best friend came over at about week 4 and vacuumed for me. It was really, really hard to sit there while she did it but I know she didn't mind and I would have done it for her in a heartbeat.
Wishing you all the best!

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I have never hear of this robotic Hysterectomy??? What is it????
You probably over did it and even though you thought that it was all fine, it can set you farther back. I know the one day I felt pretty good so I cleaned my house and felt good through out the day. The next day I could not even get out of bed...it set me back. You have to realize, whatever surgery you have...it is still surgery and your body naturally needs to heal. It may take you a few weeks to recoup now....just take it easy and make your husband and family realize that if you dont rest now and get lots of it, you will be struggling for a long time.
I hope you recover soon!! And PLEASE rest!!!

The type of surgery you had does not make you heal internally any faster.
Concentrating on healing well, which means rest, following restrictions, listening to your body, is the most important thing you can do right now. You can always be superwoman later, when healed. Permanent injury can be done if you do not get this right. At three months internally you are only 80% healed and it is 6 months to a year for you to be fully healed.
Remember: You only have one chance to heal correctly.
Heal well - Joanne

frustrated and mad!
I had laparoscopic on July 30th, and I was also lulled into thinking I was great that first week or so, then the pains started setting in. Someone on another thread quoted their doctor as saying "little surgery outside, big surgery inside" or something like that.
Please take it easy and don't be afraid to ask for help from family and friends.
