Re: Is Everyone back to normal at 8 months???!!!

I am only 3 months into my recovery and it seems very frustrating to me. I feel small comfort that you are having the same thing at 8 months. So many people told me I would feel like a million bucks after I got it done, not so much! I still have alot of pain, have people told you it would take up to a year? Feeling frustrated!

Re: Is Everyone back to normal at 8 months???!!!

Complete healing from a hysterectomy does take 6-12 months. There are many of us that don't feel back to normal at 8 months. I am 2years 3months post and am trying to accept that my life will never been the same.

I don't feel like my old self! Less energy, still sore after activity and hormones are wacky. I guess it just takes time..

Re: Is Everyone back to normal at 8 months???!!!

Everyone's surgery is different, and we all heal at different rates. I got really depressed around the 8 or 9 month mark, comparing myself to all the folks feeling great... Well, it took around a year for me, but I feel pretty great now - try to be patient with yourself, you deserve the time it takes to heal!

Thank you so much for the comments, it truly helps to know others are going through the same thing. I can't wait for the energy to come back I think that is the hardest. Thanks again!
