Hospital stay...how long

I just wanted some feed back on the length of time everyone had to stay in the hospital for a TAH. My doctor has told me 2 - 6 days. I was hoping to get a better idea so I can plan on care needed and when...thanks so much ladies, your help is wonderful!

Hi, I went in for my surgery on 12/12, and got to come home on 12/14. My doctor had told me the same thing about 2-6 days, and that it depended on how well I felt and how bad I wanted to go home. I had a nurse from hell and so pushed to go home asap. Good luck with your surgery, the waiting really is the worst part.

I had a total hysterectomy at 8 am and went home the next day at noon. My doctor is obsessed with avoiding any of those staff type drug resistant infections that lurk in hospitals so he gets his patients out of the hospital as soon as possible. I did fine too. Best of luck to you!

Had surgery on Friday and went home on the following Tuesday. Had some small complications. Everything went well for the most part. NOT NEARLY as bad as most talked it up to be.. It's hard to believe that I have not had a period in 3 months......hard to believe but feels great!!!!! Becky

I had a TAH on a Tuesday morning and went home Thursday evening.

I had a tah/bso and was told 2-3 days in the hospital. I ended up staying an extra day because of a reaction to morphine.

I was told 1-4 days. I had surgery(LAVH-BSO) on a Tuesday morning and got to go home on that Thursday evening.

I had TAH first surgery on Thursday morning and went home Sunday after breakfast.
