Day 3 post hysterectomy incision site pain - help?!

I'm day 3 post op and one of my incision sites is hurting. Thought I'd been getting off too easily with no pain so far!
What's the best thing to help the pain? Ice pack??

I feel like I got off pretty easily with my pain level too -- never had anything too sharp or super uncomfortable -- but I definitely had, and still have to a lesser degree, some real soreness. On some days it can get bothersome as the day wears on, especially on days where I am particularly active (longer walk, trip to doctor or store, etc).

Ice packs have definitely become my best friend. I use them intermittently throughout the day when I feel that soreness, and I also put one on my incision immediately after any significant activity even when I'm feeling good still. Helps limit the minor swelling and extra tenderness I tend to get after I'm on my feet moving around for longer periods.

Day three is so early -- make sure you keep on schedule with your medications and rest when you need it. I'm not a big fan of the Percocet I was given and tried to get by on just ibuprofen, but it wasn't always enough in that first week. Sometimes your body just needs the stronger stuff!
