6-month UFE follow-up

I had my 6-month follow-up today for my UFE back in March. Well it turns out I had 4 not 3 fibroids. The first MRI hinted at others past the 3 but didn't commit to it. Luckily now all the buggers are 100% dead. My largest (18.9 cm) which was on a stalk has shrunk by a 1/3 so far. My IR says they will all continue to shrink even more.

A couple of lessons learned 1) fight for what you are comfortable with - the first IR would not do my UFE because of the fibroid on the stalk. Said it wouldn't work or that the fibroid would break-off. Not the case. We are our only advocates. 2) the whole process was pretty easy so if you aren't ready to go under the "knife" so to speak try UFE it does work. I personally could afford the time off work to have major surgery.

I know I can grow new fibroids but I would do this again in a heartbeat.

I feel like this is now the beginning of the next chapter of my life. I moved north for a job and ever since we moved up here we have had deaths in our family, lack of job opportunities for my husband, family drama, poor health, and the list goes on. But now I get good news today and I have a job interview on Monday back in the south. So hopefully this is the start of good things to come including my husband's graduation in May.
