am I doing too much

On Nov 14 I will be having my bladder put back where she belongs and my rectum fixed plus a TVH. When I went to the dr and found this out I was told to take it easy. Nothing will fall out it will just get worse if I lift a lot or am on my feet a lot. Well that is hard to do with a family. My kids are 7 and 10. I have been reading the post about the "swelly belly". This is happening to me now. In the morning I am fine by the end of the day I look like I am 5 mos along. Is this because I am doing too much?

It sounds like you might be doing too much. Be especially careful with the lifting. My restrictions for after surgery are nothing over 12lbs for three months.
Can you rest with your feet up while the kids are in school --- even if only 1/2 hr in morning and 1/2 hr in afternoon?
Are you working too?

Hi. You might as well try to get the kids used to the idea that you are going to need their help for a while. Overdoing it after your surgery can cause serious problems. It does sound like you may be doing too much now...Please try to take it easy.

I know they need your help, but 7 and 10 year olds can really do a lot. If you are there to talk them through it, I really can't think of many household tasks that at the very least the 10 year old can't do. Since you have time before the surgery you can work with them on learning some tasks. All you have to do is accept that things will be done kiddish. They may miss crumbs on the floor or fold the towels unevenly, but let them do it. Actually your lucky they aren't teens because they will be more willing to take care of you without the obnoxious attitude.
