Not even 30 yet and facing a hysterectomy.
Hey ladies!! Goodness I'm hoping someone can help me. I go to my doctor in about an hour to discuss the what kind and when of my surgery. This site has been wonderful in giving me ideas of questions I need to ask, but I need a little more help. I'm so lost. I'm confused and sad and mad, but at the same time I'm a little happy to finally get some relief. (I'm having the surgery due to severe endometriosis.) I don't have a lot of family support and the friends that have gone through this weren't nearly as young as I am. Can anybody help me, please?? Thanks and to all!!!

Re: Not even 30 yet and facing a hysterectomy.
Thanks, girls! I''m sad that both of you had to have this surgery, but glad there's somebody that can relate. My doc has scheduled me for a TAH/BSO next Friday, Oct. 21. I was really ok with it until I was walking out of his office and there was a girl about my age going in with a newborn baby. That hurt, but I guess that's to be expected, and for some time to come. I'm on my period now and it's excruciating, so I'm definitely glad I'm having the surgery, but is it weird that I'm a little sad that this will be my last period EVER? Ugh! So much to think about!! Ya'll are the best! How are you doing in your recoveries?

Re: Not even 30 yet and facing a hysterectomy.
I had my surgery when I was 30 for endometriosis as well....I hope you get the relief you are looking for. I know I have. I have never felt better. I also had the TAH/BSO and recovery was kinda tough....But the pain is only temporary. Just make sure you do everything your doctor tells you. DO NOT over do it. You might feel great one day and decide you can do more and then you end up taking a few steps back.
on the 21st!! I will be thinking of you and hoping you get the same success that I have had!!

Thanks, Traci!! I am excited about getting some relief. I literally told my doctor I was throwing up my hands and waving the white flag. I totally give up the fight. I know it's what is best. I will definitely take your advice. I'm looking forward to a little pampering for the princess!!

Re: Not even 30 yet and facing a hysterectomy.
you know, i think this is the reason why i never got pregnant. my fibroids were in the way. but i think that was probally a blessing in disquise for me after a failed marrige. but now i'm 51 years old, and i love kids, but it's okay that i didn't have one.
but you will be fine sweetie! if you really want a child, you can always adopt. the main thing is your health and the extension of your life.

Re: Not even 30 yet and facing a hysterectomy.
I'm 28 and am having a TVH November 22nd due to extremely heavy and painful periods aka period from hell. I bleed up 18 days per cycle, and my cycles are 28 days. I didn't want a hysterectomy at such a young age, but I can't do this anymore. If you ever want to talk pm me
