Re: Anyone have issues after a bath post hysterectomy?

Baths are therapeutic , there were the only thing along with heating pads that got me through the adenomyosis pain. My Dr wouldn't give anything stronger than Advil. She said there was a study done that they showed that there wasn't an increase in infections. So , she okayed me to bathe right after surg. I was a TVH. Would be neat to locate that study. I love my baths, most relaxing thing ever and you can rinse off if your concerned.

My discharge papers said I could bathe right away. I first decided to take a bath at about 2 1/2 weeks and everything was fine afterwards.

Anyone have issues after a bath post hysterectomy?

My Dr normally does all robotic but my hysterectomy date had to be moved forward a week and the robot was being used that day by another surgeon. I was just fine with LAVH as my Dr was going to use my same incision sites from my lap afew months ago. I don't know if all drs do things different but at my 2 week post op at first he said all restrictions lifted except nothing in the vagina... when I questioned if I can lift he said lifting is ok... Then he said wait you didn't have robotic we did LAVH so you do have stitches. And explained the robotic to only be cauterization so made me think that yes even the vag. Cuff. He also went on to explain that the worry is over a stitch coming loose in the cuff but he said generally will not happen with lifting, bending, normal things.. But the damage is more so with something inserted in the vagina. I do tryst my Dr 100%.. He is skilled with excision of endo as well. I know drs vary on the bath rule after having a baby as well. My Dr has always encouraged bath after my 3 vaginal deliveries as well, where as many of my friends are told no bath for 2Weeks (diff drs)

HI, I had my 2 week check up today and was told bath was ok, no lifting that would involve abdomen muscles. No o's for 6 weeks, nothing in for 10 weeks.
