Re: Cuff Stitches question

Yes, its normal. Depending upon the type of sutures your surgeon used it may be too early yet.

Re: Cuff Stitches question

TAH/BSO. Everything gone. Miserable with sudden menopause, depression and slow healing. Everything is worrying me. Can they do the surgery and not put in a cuff?

Re: Cuff Stitches question

You do have a cuff since your cervix was removed. Have you spoken with your doctor about your menopausal symptoms?

Re: Cuff Stitches question

If they removed the cervix you have a vaginal cuff. The cuff or apex it where the close the top of vagina after the cervix is removed. If you had a supracervical/partial/subtotal then you would have a cervix still. (BTW different names for same thing).
Is there a reason why you are a bit worried about not seeing sutures?

sharpie - try to remember soft tissue healing takes a minimum of six weeks. It can not be rushed.

Re: Cuff Stitches question

I read in another post that some surgeons don't do a cuff - (I didn't understand that either). I'm glad to hear some never see their stitches.
