No clue what to expect

I am scheduled for my op on Nov 21. Yes the day before Thanksgiving. I am eating my turkey on the 18th. Anyway, I have no idea what I am in for. Especially afterwards. But is there any prep before hand you all suggest? All I know is not to eat after midnight. I have been told nothing else.
Please help!

I understand how you're feeling. I suggest reading through the hysterectomy stories and the hints threads as well as reading through this pre-op forum. I remember spending hours pouring over the posts here. There's tons of great information.

Your doctor should tell you what she/he wants you to do for pre-surgery prep. Be sure to ask.

The dr should have specific instructions for you as to diet and any bowel prep. Each dr seems to have a different point of view on this.

If you're having a TAH and will be in the hospital on Thanksgiving, that's actually not so bad. In the early 90s, I was in the hospital for 2 weeks, including Turkey Day. The hospital let me order up some turkey dinners and my family and I had our Thanksgiving dinner in my hospital room. It certainly was memorable.

have you had your pre-op appt yet? your dr should answer all your questions that day and give you instructions. make sure to write your questions down before you go so you dont forget to ask any
