4 Weeks Post-Op TAH,RSO and Having Incision Problems and will have surgery again!

OK, I know there are sisters out there who had to have gone through what I am going through. I had my TAH and RSO on April 30, and all went well the first week. By Beginning of second week, I had a pin hole in my incision, and it was draining. Having had a 7 previous surgerys to the TAH, I knew this was a soroma, or a gathering of fluid under the incision, and it finds the weakest point to come out. So of course I called my doctor, and told him about it, then went to see him on Monday, as this occurred on a Friday night. So through the past 3 weeks, this soroma has grown, and is a good 1 inch deep by 5 inches long, with only a hole the size of a Q-Tip, so he is packing it with this tapeworm looking stuff. Well, after today, doc and I decided to opt for surgery again this Friday to cut the incision open, drain any of the pockets of fluid, then re close it. I am soooo frustrated! I have been here three years ago, and I hate that I am back to the incision issues. I thought I was done with surgery!!! My history of having the MRSA staff infection is why we are taking the most sterile agggressive approach to fix this. I guess I needed to vent more than anything. I am in pain from my doc messing with the incision, and I have to back at 10am tomorow for him to pack it again, then surgery Friday to cut it open.

You have been down a very long road and I bet you are exasperated! I have been going through post-op problems since March 2007 so I know how you feel. I just had a second surgery...sort of a do-over because my previous surgeon didn't even bother to remove endometriosis when she did my surgery. Hang in there. I hope your doctors do a good job and you can finally get on the road to healing so you can have a life again. I'll be thinking about you during your new surgery.

Thank you for the support, I really need it. I have been fighting crying over this, and I HURT! The packing in the incision is killing me, I feel like my pelvic bone is bruised, and I just plain hurt! Now, I do keep reminding myself that that my old pains are gone, and I am now faced with healing pains, but it is still hard to deal with. Thank you all again.
