Pain Management while waiting

Can anyone give suggestions for pain management while waiting for the big day? I have severe Endo and a tennis ball sized right ovary that seems to be growing bigger each day. Two Aleve doesn't cut it, Ibuprophin doesn't cut it. Vicodin does, but knocks me out so can't take during the day. I called Dr. to get more meds but haven't heard back yet. Just wondered what some of you are using or may have used while you wait. Thanks!

I take vicoden but can only tolerate 1/2 of a pill, try breaking it in two and take only half & see how that does untill you hear from your Dr. good luck and I hope this helps.

I had been taking darvocet which helped me focus more at work than any other pain killer plus eliminated the pain. It stopped working for me so they switched me to vicodin. My pain has gotten worse so my surgery was moved up five days and now I am on percocet. Aleve works really well for an over the counter med.

Good luck. I know how frustrating it is to be in pain and having to work. I'm living day by day right now.

I had a Naproxen/Tylenol cocktail going for a while: 1000 mg of Naproxen (Aleve) with 2 extra-strength Tylenol. You need to talk to your doctor before trying this. 1000 mg is the maximum dose of naproxen and some doctors don't want you taking NSAIDs like Aleve and ibruprofen before surgery. And some doctors allow you to mix NSAIDs with Tylenol and some don't.

It helps to stay plugged into the heating pad all the time. Or wear two pairs of underwear and pin those portable disposable hand warmers hunters wear between the two layers. No metal against your skin, though. HOT!
