3 days post hysterectomy - Labia bruising

I am three days post-op, and one of my Labia minora has swollen to the size of my middle finger, making the labia majora attached to it also swell. It is also dark purple and black. Is this standard bruising after a vaginal assisted laporacopic hysterectomy? Thank you!!

How is your swelling since you posted this? I had a TVH, so my entire surgery was vaginal. While I didn't have the extreme swelling and bruising that you mention, I did have an area on either side of the vaginal opening that was very sore and a bit swollen. It was clear to me that there was some sort of clamp left in me for my surgery to help keep the vagina open. It stopped being sore after about a week post op.

I suggest using ice packs down below to help with the swelling and discomfort. Call your surgeon's office if you have concerns or if it isn't getting better.
