4 week post op-bleeding

I'm exactly 4 weeks post op. Yesterday I started bleeding like light periods and it's continued off and on for the last 12 hours. What could this be and is this normal? I'm a little concerned as it's 4 weeks later. Having a small amount of belly pain with it.

Re: 4 week post op-bleeding

Also it's bright red blood and a bit heavier than a light period. Any insight?

Re: 4 week post op-bleeding

It's definitely something you want to let your doctor know. it could be nothing or you could be doing too much.
I started bleeding at 4 weeks bright red, my doct examined me and all was well. I didn't stop completely until almost 6 weeks and then it was gone. I'm 3 months post op, doing great - no mini periods or anything (woohoo!). Let your doctor know about belly pain and bright red bleeding to make sure everything is progressing normally. take care of yourself and remind yourself you are still healing, so go slow.
Good luck on your recovery and keep us posted!

Re: 4 week post op-bleeding

Me either, I am almost 3 weeks post surgery (June 5th) and had a lapro/vag procedure, everything taken. I was just having light pink spotting that I know is normal. But awoke to a bit more on a pad, bright red, some when I go potty. Ug, just laying low for now. Seems to have stopped for the moment. This sucks, just when you think you should be able to do a little bit of something....a reminder just how major it all is/was. Thanks for the validation post! Bored in Colorado.
