How long were you actually in the OR?

I'm set up for LAVH/BSO and at my pre-op he said I'd be in surgery about an hour and a half.

How long were you actually in the OR?

I went into the OR at 8am and my husband said the doctor came to talk to him around 10:30, so 2.5 hours.

I had a TAH-BSO and I'm heavy. Doc said the added weight around my middle added some time to the procedure.

I didn't get back to a regular room until about noon or so.

How long were you actually in the OR?

I was in for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours -- but had more adhesions than expected.
My husband said that was the hardest part for him -- asa he was told about 1 1/2 to 2 hours -- then when it started taking longer he got really worried.

but all is good

How long were you actually in the OR?

I had a TAH and kept just one ovary. I was wheeled into the OR just after 8 a.m., and the doctor spoke to my husband around 9:45. The anesthesiologist commented that my doctor was a fast surgeon. He wasn't kidding. I'm about 70 pounds overweight, to boot.

How long were you actually in the OR?

I went to the OR for my TVH at 9:30 and my DH said my doctor came out and talked to him at 10:30 when it was over. My doctor told me about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours when I asked at my pre-op.

How long were you actually in the OR?

I had a TAH/BSO and was told to expect 2 - 2 1/2 hours in surgery. My surgery was scheduled for 12:00pm, and I was taken back pretty much on schedule. It was a little after 12, but still before 12:30pm. I was in a prep room for just a few minutes (10 minutes TOPS) and then my bed was wheeled into the OR. I was put to sleep right away...they moved me onto the operating table, strapped my arms down, covered me with a heated blanket and then they put the mask on me (still not sure if it was gas or oxigen), told me I was going to go to sleep now and sure enough...I was out! The weird thing is though, I woke up in the recovery room at 5:30pm, and I still don't understand why it took so long. *scratches head* I would say that I was definitely asleep by 12:30pm, so that's 5 hours! I think I recall my husband telling me that he was told that my surgery got delayed (don't know for what reason), but I didn't even remember any of this until thinking of it now. Will have to be sure to ask DH when he gets home from work tonight. That's so crazy that they kept me asleep for that many hours though, but I definitely didn't wake up and then go back out again. Hmmm, must ask DH for sure...
