9 days post op

Well its been 9 days since my abdominal hysterectomy. I feel as though I am recovering quite well. Had my staples removed 2 days ago on day 7 post op. I had everything removed except my cervix. I am 39 yrs old. HRT is a decision that me, my husband, and my gyn have discussed. I will begin therapy in 2 weeks. My uterus was the size of a 16 week pregnant uterus. My incision was midline abdominal about 8 inches. I will keep my progress updated.

Hi... Similar situation. I am 40 and had a TLH (kept cervix) on December 19. Will make my 2 week appt with Dr's office tomorrow. HRT from there. I'm most nervous about the HRT and how it will make me feel. I'm an anxious person by nature and it's gotten a bit worse since surgery. The long list of surgical menopause side effects are frightening but I'm trying not to psych myself out too much about them. I feel pretty good physically. Started up daily walks again, only 30 min at a slow pace... My biggest complaint.... I'm dumb! I feel like my vocabulary has decreased, I have a hard time expressing myself, mixing up words. I'm well out of sorts. I wonder if I'm imagining it?

Meredith I know what you mean. I've been saying I feel like they removed my personality too. I hope this passes. Even my posts are off.
