LAVH Almost 8 weeks Post Op - Sex?

Scared but curious.... it's my wedding anniversary ; ) any suggestions?!

Sorry...only 3 weeks post op so I can't help. I do know that my doctor told me I was not do "engage" until after my 6th week.

Hi, I had a total hysterectomy and a bladder sling and had sex 8 weeks after my operation. I did however bleed afterwards. I had a grandulation tissue on the scar tissue which I had removed in day surgery. My doctor said not to have sex until 6 weeks post op. if there is no complications after your op you should be fine. Happy Anniversary.

If you are cleared, my best advice is to have a talk with DH, explain that when you say stop, it means now and not one second more. Use plenty of lube, go slow, and have a sense of humor about the whole thing. Oh, and have a very happy anniversary!

I was cleared for sex at 7 weeks and we gave it a go that night. It was difficult for me to relax but everything went just fine. Nothing hurt and I did not need any lube. I had no bleeding afterward. It was fine but not great that first time. Since then we've had sex more times and it's gotten better every time. Now I'm no longer nervous about getting hurt so it's much more enjoyable.

If your doc has given you the green light for intercourse, then get some candles, a bottle of wine and a bottle of lube and see how it goes. We also shared a hot bath and I got a lovely massage, so I was all relaxed and practically purring like a happy kitten.

Some women have reported that being on top is better because it offers more control over pace and depth but for me,it was out of the question- my abs just were not up to it. I had no trouble, though, with missionary as long as I did not get cute about leg position and "spooning" was lovely.

Happy Anniversary. My surgery was the same day as yours and I was released for sex today. Did it, was tense like you but all went well. Yayyy for us and what great news to be released for your anniversary :-)

I was told yesterday that we could engage (but not any hard jabs) slowly. But since I am still spotting some, I am holding off until another week or 2. I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow. Our anniversary is coming up too around my 6 week post op. That is when I am thinking of trying! NERVOUS!!!!
