Post-Hysterectomy Day 14: Started Bleeding

Well, I knew something would happen! When getting out of bed this morning, bright red blood came trickling out of me. I have been fortunate with no bleeding since my TAH/BOS on May 12th, 2014. The past few days I have had a lot of sharp pain that seems to be associated with my internal bikini incision. My TAH went well, but I required two units of blood as my levels were 5.4 (I arrived at a 7). Now I am bleeding, having new pain, and exhausted. Anyone else experience these types of issues post-surgery?

If you are bleeding to the point of filling a pad in one hour, you need to get to the ER ASAP. If not, put your feet up and call your doctor as suggested. Please keep us posted.

This to happened (on a weekend of course) but I rested and continued to have like a heavy period when I stood up.Went to ER next day. Was a hematoma. Call Dr at least but it is a holiday weekend. Bite the bullet and go to ER. Good luck.
