Last time thru this! Yee-haw!

While my view point is not shared by everyone, I just need to vent. As I sit here at home (I'm taking a half sick day) feeling my monthly misery , FOR THE LAST TIME!!! Yes! If I didn't feel so yucky, I'd go out and celebrate! Finally, once I heal, I hope to have the other half of my life back! For me, my TAH/BSO is a good thing with no regrets. I just have to get past the surgery and recovery part. At the age of 38, I've already dinked around for the past few years with pill changes and am finally on HRT (after DH got his tubes tied). The progesterone plays royal havic with me and sets off cluster headaches. While I know others have it worse than me, I'm just so glad I can finally get out of this. And after reading some of the amourous postings - maybe I'll even get my libido back! DH will be celebrating then! Thanks for listening!!

Hi Barb!

What a great attitude you have toward your upcoming surgery! It was a surprise to me after years of thinking that I was a whimp when it came to pain to realize that my period pains were much worse than my surgical pain. Guess what? It has been 4 months since I bled! I love the freedom! Best of health and recovery to you!

Barb

Hey, Barb! I know the feeling exactly!!! Hang in there, Sis!! The old menstro-monster :dragon: will soon be slain!! Then you'll be so glad that you "hung in there."

I, too, am hoping this next period will be my last forever and ever. What a great feeling that will be to walk down the "supplies" aisle in the grocery store and not make THAT purchase

Prayers for a patient waiting time for you, and for a successful outcome and thorough recovery....

Last time thru this! Yee-haw!

We are going the same day. While I"m having some anxiety about having set the date I know what you mean! I had my period just last week! I too keep telling myself that should be the last time. I was eating Advil like candy the last two months and still having severe pain. Not to mention the fear of leaving the house fearing I'd leak. But I know once I get through April 12 I will take great joy in throwing out my left over supplies!

I know that feeling!!!!!!! I was just sitting here thinking about all of the money us women have put into our monthly needs. It is pretty ridiculous when you think about it. Just think its almost like when you pay your house off and you have a (Mortgage Burning Party). Its finally over. All the pain all the monthly grief. I am going to the castle on 3/30/01 with pre-op tomorrow.
I am looking forward to this pain going away I just had one surgery for tumors to be removed on 3/2/01 and now back again.

Just remember God is in control of this and he will never give us more than we can handle.

God Bless

Bye-bye uterus!

Oh boy, I can really relate to your struggle! I had been on double doses of birth control pills to suppress my month long periods and my severe pms symptoms.(The doc didn't want me anemic before surgery.) During the time my last period was due, that darned uterus was still cramping like crazy even though there was no endometrial lining left to shed! I told that little bugger to have at it now because in two weeks it would be gone. I had my supracervical hyst two weeks ago today. The postop pain was nothing compared to the ripping, cramping sensations I was experiencing during the years leading up to surgery. I found out I had a fibroid uterus last November, and I researched my options, but because there were big fibroids sitting on my bladder and rectum, the hyst was the best approach. (I had an umbilical hernia and I had to have the plumbing system worked on too, but that's a different topic.) Anyway, I feel so much better now than before. It was hard giving up something I had never used-I have no kids-but the trade off will still be better in the long run. I can only offer you lots of encouragement. It will only get better.

I too can't wait to walk down 'that aisle' and just giggle:lol That will be a hoot! I think I had my last period too, my next one is due four days after my surgery is scheduled, yet some months I get it early, so I am hoping this won't be one of my early months and than I already had my last period ever...YIPEE
