Ouch!

I have been dealing with the never-ending period syndrome for quite a while now (endometriosis, fibroids). Lately, I have been having killer cramps, both in the front and in my lower back. My doctor prescribed Tylenol 3, but I can't function at work when I take them. Thankfully I have an appointment on Thursday, during which she told me she is going to talk me into having a hyst. I don't think I will need too much convincing after today. I am in SO much pain. Any suggestions on things I can try to relieve the pain? I use Motrin 800mg, which helps some, but not today. I'm still at work, because I've been saving my days in case I have the surgery. I think I'm going to have to leave, though...I can't see straight it hurts so bad.

Ouch!

You might try Aleve. I think (?) it is a painkiller and anti-inflamitory, and if I remember right it is a prostoglandin inhibitor, which can have an effect on cramps (not just on the pain from cramps, but the cramping itself). I also found that my periods were considerably lighter when I'd take it. It may upset your stomach (like aspirin, Motrin, etc.).

Ouch!

s Judy,

I am sorry to hear of your discomfort! I do not know of anything to help, but I think you are doing the right thing in seeing your doctor. Hopefully, she can prescribe something that will help relieve your pain.

Keep visiting us and ask your doctors lots of questions. I found it helped to write them down as I was perusing these boards. There is also a pre op list of questions, that may help in making your decision , here is the link:https://www.hystersisters.com/questions.php

All the best to you!
