Estrogen? Over 55

From my appointment and Dr subscribed estrogen for 3 weeks. This is my eighth week. From a radical abdominal hysterectomy. I don't understand why I have to take estrogen. He said that I am not all the way healed inside

Don't hesitate to call your doctor to ask why you need the estrogen.

Check your prescription to see if it's for Estrace cream. I'm guessing that the estrogen your doctor has prescribed is a vaginal estrogen, which can help with your internal healing. With your entire uterus (which includes the cervix) removed, you now have what is called a vaginal cuff. If your doctor checked and noticed that the cuff isn't fully healed yet, he may want you to use the cream to help the healing process. This is a guess on my part--I'm not a doctor/medical professional. Please let us know what your doctor says, okay?

Yes you are exactly right I just went for my check up this morning and he prescribed the estrogen. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this experience he gave me pills that are 1 mg that I take Monday through Friday only
