Words of encouragement for new sisters

Hi recent post-ops. Just wanted to let you know there are some happy stories out there. I was SO ambivalent about having surgery it took me from 1997 to 2006 to come to the final decision (and after 4 other surgeries...Myomectomy in 1999, 2 exploratory laps--one with bilateral tubal ligation and an endometrial ablation and adhesion removal in 2002) so it didn't happen lightly. I have to say I'm infinitely more pleased than I ever imagined. My tummy is flat (well almost) for perhaps the first time in my life. The sex with DH is the best ever. The healing seems complete in and out except for the tummy scars (they tried laparascopic first and then went abdominal), but that's in appearance only...no discomfort. I strongly encourage everyone to begin a mild exercise program as soon as possible after surgery. The beginning yoga classes I take are so great and I also do some aerobic ex./weight training for about 2-3 hrs. a week. Life is altogether better than ever. The best thing is no periods, of course. Wish I could say the migraines were gone, but I have to wait for menopause for that I guess. They are milder, though. I wanted to thank you for your post and to tell the sisters as well...it's not all bad to have this done. Some of the scarier posts had me scared and I found that I had to quit reading the ones that were scary. I'm 12 days out and feeling stronger every day, can walk without pelvic pain or pressure and my sciatica is gone!
