Pre-op today cervix being removed!!!!

I'm so glad you asked this question! I'm having a TAH w/ cervix removed on the same day as you. This is one of the things I've been worried about. DH & I have always had an enjoyable sex life and I'm glad to hear others positive experiences.

I think everyone has covered all the benefits. Another bonus for me was no more discharge! and, no need for panty liners!

I am happy to hear all of your happy responses. My hubby and I had to decide on the removal of my cervix at my pre-op last week. We didn't know anything about it and hadn't had a chance to talk about it. The doctor put us on the spot and I said yes. My husand was quite upset afterwards because he thought it meant no more "O"s for me. I am VERY happy to hear that's not necessarily the case. You have all given me great hope. Thank you.

I'm so glad to see such positive things written about sex drive after surgery. I divorced 3 years ago after a 20+ year marriage and have been in a commited relationship with a great guy for almost 2 years. I have a very high sex drive and a very satisfying sex life. I am due to have a hysterectomy on Nov 15th and one of my biggest concerns was the negative impact it could have on our intimacy. I've read so many horror stories on here that it is nice to see people saying all is well! I can't imagine not being able to have sex for six weeks as we can't even get through a movie without reaching for each other. I guess we'll have to behave like grownups.
