surgery tues. and weird throat

Anyone have a weird throat like this after surgery? I feel hoarse..not really a sore throat just have trouble with talking..still haven't pooped yet and having nausea as well

My voice was pretty weak after surgery for a few days. I think it's normal, especially after intubation. Try to spend some time walking if you can to strengthen your lungs and it should go away soon.

In terms of the pooping, I couldn't go until after I got off the narcotics about 4 days after surgery. If you are having terrible nausea, try calling your doctor and asking for the patch that goes behind your ear. I asked for it before surgery and it was like magic, no nausea at all! It helps a LOT. Would like to second the magic patch. I get terrible nausea from anesthetic and this time I didn't with the patch. Best thing ever.

I had that for the dnc and was fine but they didn't give me amy for the surgery..I think the low hormones are kicking in

My dr prescribed OTC colace which I started a day ago and had my first BM. That, and showering, were my only 2 accomplishments today.

My mood is very low too. Didn't think about hormones as much as all the healing I have ahead, everything my family is going through to support me, and worries about work.

I've been hanging out here reading through other posts which helps a lot.

I too had the weird throat thingy and a little bit of bloody nose congestion post surgery. They told me it was a combo of the tubes and the dry air - oxygen is not humidified nor are the hospital rooms.
