Enlarged uterus; surgery in July

I had a hysteroscopy May 13th, and was diagnosed with an enlarged uterus, thick lining of the uterus and polyps. Since then I feel almost like I'm pregnant (no chance. Tubaligation 2001). I have puffiness below my rib cage, and my pants are tight in the waist only. I also get full eating very quickly and even get nauseous. Could my uterus be so enlarged that it is pressing on my stomach? I have that feeling in my stomach that I had while pregnant with my 1 and only child of 'pulling'; that's the only way I can describe it. Is my uterus still enlarging? My surgery date is July 13th and I'm wondering and worrying if I can make it that long. I'm very uncomfortable.

Any similar experiences? Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Enlarged uterus; surgery in July

Im not sure if its possible or not but I have something somewhat similar. I have 2 herniated discs and a bulging disc in my back. My dr. told me it was not severe enough to operate but it would get better. After a couple years and no relief I was ready to strangle him *punch* BUT... when I had my most recent laproscopic surgery my gyncologist told me my uterus is enlarged due to fibroids and also tilted back (I forget the fancy term she used :eyes: ) Anyway she told me once I have my TAH I will feel much better and blamed the back pain on my uterus.

I hope this helps, I sure cant wait to feel the relief myself

Enlarged uterus; surgery in July

me..me...me!!!! Everything you have described sounds like how I feel exactly. I also have enlarged uterus, retroverted, thickened lining, fibroids and masses in the lining which could be more fibroids, endo, and or combo. Had an ultrasound on May 4th and we decided on hysterectomy at my visit which was fifteen minutes later. Had to delay date cause of my bp and blood count and now because of her vacation till June 29th which would be almost two months. Oh yes, and not to mention that means at least one more visit from Aunt Flo if not two. I told her goodbye when I thought I was going to get a June 6th surgery date.
That alone is enough to almost bring me to tears.

I had to buy a size larger pants that hang in the behind and now those are getting hard to button. At this rate in another month I will have to wear maternity pants. This really concerns me since we are planning to do a TVH especially with my uterus being retroverted which doesn't make the surgery any easier.

Always have slept on my tummy except when pregnant and now find that too uncomfortable. Also finding it very difficult to have sex, everything feels swollen and tender from my naval down.

Good luck to you. At least you know you have an almost identical hyster twin going through the same thing.

hugs

Know the Enlarged Uterus Feeling!

Had my TAH yesterday 5/31. My Uterus was the size of a 16 week pregnancy. It was pressing on my innards, arteries, bladder, rectum ~ you name it!

Had swolen ankles and my legs hurt. Walked like an old woman. Decided my husband and daughter needed to have a wife an mother who could do more than sit on the couch and bleed slowly to death.

I'm in pain but know that God's going to see me through this with the help of drugs and taking care of myself.

The advice on this site has been so great... My doctor said she thinks that I did so well because of the communications you all have posted.

Thanks everyone!

Enlarged uterus; surgery in July

Thank you so much for your responses! I thought I was going crazy with the symptoms I have. Now I know I'm not imagining that my belly is getting bigger!

It makes sense that my back pain is also due to the added size of my uterus. I hadn't considered that.

I am looking foward to having my surgery just to have relief from the back pain, tummy aches and uncomfortable feelings and especially the pms and excessive periods. I too, have one more visit from Aunt Flo. It really is bad because it will more than likely be on our camping trip that is also a family reunion in the Tetons. I had severe pms for 2 weeks this month and can't imagine what my state of mind will be on this camping trip. I may just lock myself in the travel trailer and stay away from everyone.
Because of this pms, I'm going to have my ovaries taken as well. I can't live like that.
I'm 41 years old and would more than likely go on HRT in a few years anyway.

Thanks again! Good luck to all of you and hang in there!

Enlarged uterus; surgery in July

Yep i had all those problems with my enlarged uteurs , including major heartburn and acid reflux, and my tummy was huge but rock hard, very uncomfy but I lived with it for years, until I finally decided to do the surgery. Gee why I didn't do it earlier I have no idea, but Im ten months post op now and life is great, all my problems due to the enlarged uterus , like peein every ten mins' ,wetting myself with cough or sneezeing fits, bm issues, the heartburn, acid reflus, the hard tummy, all of it is gone, life is great. After the surgery it is painful, but rember there is a very huge light after the dark tunnel and its very much worth it.

I had all of the same symptoms you have mentioned - always needed to unbutton my pants after I ate - had to get up and pee 5 times a night - had such great pressure in my pelvic area - and MAJOR acid reflux - IT NOW ALL GONE!!! Had a TVH on May 3rd - I am over 4 weks post-op - all my clothes fit now - no more rock hard belly or pressure. I can now sleep through the night - LIFE IS GOOD.
