6 weeks post Da Vinci vaginal cuff hematoma

Well yesterday I was walking into the store when I felt a gush of what I thought was from my bladder. I decided I had better go home and then the cramping started. When I got home I found that it was not urine. It was bright red blood. I already had my 6 week check up scheduled for this morning so I decided to wear a pad and monitor it. Woke up this morning and I was still bleeding and cramping was more uncomfortable.
My Dr. did a pelvic exam and said she could see the oozing blood. She said that I'm healing but just a little slower than normal. Guess that could be from the amount of don't do's I've done. Doesn't help much when the DH doesn't understand. She then did a palpable exam and after all of these years and routine exams, I don't recall it ever hurting as bad as today (even at my 1 week post op). She then took another look and decided to do a CT scan of my abdomen because she believes it is a hematoma behind the vaginal cuff. She says she wants to make sure that is what it is. I'm a little nervous and worried! I've also been put on pelvic rest (no intercourse or baths) for 3 more weeks.
Anyone out there have this similar problem and can you tell me the outcome?
Thanks!!

I am sorry this is happening during your recovery. I can only image the pain and frustration you are going through. Yes, there have been others who have gone through this. You can do a Search and see other threads that come up on this.

Wishing you complete healing and comfort.

Re: 6 weeks post Da Vinci vaginal cuff hematoma

I know your post is a bit old now but I was wondering how you feel now? I too have a hematoma on my cuff and am curious how you are coming along in your recovery. Thursday will be 7 weeks post op from daVinci and I feel a bit frustrated. Thanks you in advance for your help. I really really hope you feel back to normal:-)
