Anyone feel this way??

Does anyone else feel and look like they just had a baby? I'm 3 weeks post op today and my body just looks swollen especially my stomach. I cry for no reason at least once a day. Is all of this normal?

I'm one month post op and just ordered a maternity baby belt because my swelly belly is so painful when I walk around.
And I can cry over a photo of a puppy in a journal. This is for sure not, how I usually act :-D

I guess, for some of us it's normal for a while but every day brings us closer to a better life.

I felt and looked the same way. I almost 8 weeks post-op I feel and look better. I still am a little swollen, but nobody else can tell, just me and maybe my husband a little, he said he can only tell when I am naked. It does get better. I would tear up over the littlest things but that too is better. Good luck to you.

I am 4 weeks post-op and the swelly belly has me pretty disappointed too. None of my regular pants fit so I'm down to some yoga & jogging pants. I've tried spending time doing my hair & makeup in an effort to feel good about myself despite the swollen belly look, and it does help. Spending too much time in PJ's with no makeup and having bad hair days was making me feel depressed and unattractive (that wasn't helping with the tearful moments either).
One of the nurses at the hospital told me that not only is a hysterectomy a major physical trauma but it's also an emotional trauma and it takes time to heal in both ways. xoxo

I would agree with her. It sure is an emotional roller coaster! Lol.. ;-)

I am 3 weeks also. And YES!!! I look pregnant, am swollen like you wouldn't believe and have almost daily pity-parties. I am hoping that once I start to feel better, everything will subside.

What we went through wasn't a walk in the park. I hope that you start to feel better soon.
