Startling Info. I had had two vaginal/abdominal ultrasounds that **showed hyperplasia** - thickening of the
uterine lining. When I finally saw the post-op report,
14 months later, it turns out I had an atropic/very thin
lining. I had been panicked because I could not reach my
MD due to vacation time, ...and I had been on unopposed (?)
estogren (estrogen without provera...absolutely now known
to NOT be a good idea if you have a uterus, and I didl...
I now will only have a D&C, with hystoscopy (where they look inside with a scope) Maybe they always do that, I don't know.Anyway, things are better,
He did a simple procedure in
his office, a hysto/sonogram with "installation of saline"
Isn't that priceless! and instead of repeat thickened lining
I only had a polyp - which will come out. He, in his
.....(fill in the blanks) had casually said, "Do you
want it ALL out? You don't need it anyway?" I emphatically
told him I intended to go to my grave with my uterus..
Anyway, after much concern, talking to multiple women friends and sharing my concern, he then said, "The last thing I want to do is take out your uterus, " I was speaking lightly (!!) because I was concerned you might later need another invasive procedure.
I was a combination of so worried and angry I actually
considered suing him for ...what;s it called///mental
auguish. Thanks to anyone to reading/listening. I
in a more proactive calm mode wondered how to communicate
to MD's that our uteri (for some/many of us) are not
unwanted...esp. after what I read on the net.

Sounds like you might want to find another doctor if your relationship with this one is not good. I also had a CT scan that showed my endometrium was thicker than it should be - turned out I had adenomyosis which makes the uterus itself bigger because the endometrium gets in to the muscle layers of the uterus. Good luck - I hope you find an MD who makes you comfortable.
