Uninformed and curious.

Hello. % just had my davinci robotic assisted laproscopic radical hyster. I did not get to see my dr after and ask any questions and the people I have talked to since then have not been hugely helpful. I am not sure what 2 expect recovery wise. When I cn drive lift clean not that I'm in a hurry to do any of this at all lol!!but I guess what I am asking is what are the usual check points in recovery and when are you generally realeased seeing this was suppose to offer shorter recovery I am not really sure.

Oh and btw my post op is not for 3 weeks

I had a different form of the surgery so I don't know when you'd be released for those things. I just wanted to stop by and give you hugs. Maybe call your doc or the nurse and ask those questions as it seems that it's different for everyone according to the doc they have.

For a general list, you can read through our Hysterctomy Checkpoints. Those checkpoints give you a general idea of the does and don'ts during recovery. However, if you had a radical hysterectomy (meaning not only was your uterus removed but also the tissue on both sides of the cervix (parametrium), the upper part of the vagina, and possibly lymph nodes), you may need to take it extra easy.

I would strongly recommend putting a call in to your surgeon's office and ask for some specific guidance for your recovery. My GYN's nurse was a wealth of information during my recovery and was able to help guide me.

I had the DaVinci robotic procedure and I was not allowed to drive for two weeks other than that I was allowed to do what my body let me do. My dr. told me that I should feel better every day or I should call him or head to the ER. Hope you have a good recovery.
