Spotting or something is going on - 9 weeks Post-op

Hi,

I am needing some advice about something that I began noticing yesterday when I use the bathroom/restroom. I am showing some form of spotting when I wipe...(sorry tmi)...There is nothing that I see when I go just when I wipe that I see something; not sure how I describe it. What it looks to me is when I am fixing to start my period...yesterday it was very light, today is more noticable and brownish in color.

Since I had a SAH and I believe when you had a hysterectomy, you can't have a period, since there is no uterus to shed the lining and so forth. I did keep my cervix and ovaries. Could it be my internal stitches dissolving and showing up? I did have to wear a catheter for three weeks while my bladder was healing after being nicked. I am wondering if it could have something to do with that. I feel fine otherwise, except for the usual sensitivity and soreness with my incision and abdomen. I am not sure what to think. I know I will keep an eye on things and if this turns out to be a left over period, I will put in a call to my doctor.

I just thought once you had a hysterectomy, you won't get a period anymore. I know I will be disappointed if I am wrong. I was looking forward to never having one again, as was my DH. I just hope that it is nothing too serious since I have been doing so well since getting the cath out and all. No major issues or problems as some of my fellow sisters have been experiencing. I guess you can call me a "Late-Bloomer". LOL...

I have read on here that if you keep your cervix you can have a "mini-period". There is a search bar at the top of this website and you could search for mini period. Good luck!

Unfortunately if you keep the cervix there is the chance of mini periods. I had same op and unfortunately get them. Very light for an hour at most (also just wiping, nothing else). My doctor did cauterise the cervix but had warned me it could happen especially when younger. He said it could eventually stop altogether.
