Excited about heading to the Castle
Hi all, wow! Everyone seems to be full of jitters! Here is wishing everyone the smoothest, most painless surgery possible!!!!
Well, I am heading for my TAH/BSO next Monday, the 22nd and actually kind of excited about it. I am wondering if the chronic pain will go away, but looking forward to some sort of closure in this ordeal...
In the words of my best friend who had her TAH/BSO at the age of 28. "Think of it this way, you control your hormones, they no longer control you"
No matter what happens one thing is for sure. We ladies, are moving on to another phase in life!!!!
Hugs and encouragement to everyone!

Excited about heading to the Castle
That is great! I was scared, but also VERY ready to heal from surgery and feel GOOD again. I had so much pain for so long before my surgery.
My hormones were sure controlling my MIGRAINES before surgery. I feel so much better. I am 3 1/2 months post op. I have finally been able to work hard in my yard again etc. My surgery was great for me.
Your attitude will be great for your healing. You will do great!

Excited about heading to the Castle
Thank you ladies, sometimes I feel like quite the wimp with all of the horrendous stories and medical issues around here. I am just the standard run of the mill, ovarian cysts, bad periods, horrible migraines all the time all due to hormones gal...
I am curious to find out what my doc will find when she goes in. I can say that I relate to so many symptoms of endo out there but never diagnosed with any of it...
I will just be sooo glad to get rid of the bloated, tired, achy all the time feelings..... yay!

Did your migraines go away post op? How do you feel now? Those have just gone out of control the last few months along with the hot flashes...
Poor hubby is trained already I think. Sheets on, sheets off, toss, turn and repeat..... ha!

Excited about heading to the Castle
Migraines are rare now. They are NOTHING like they were before the surgery. I had years of throwing up, crying, and visits to our nearby Urgent Care center. I found out I can't take ANY pain meds. I was violently ill from the migraines, then the pain meds would make me VERY dizzy. I was ill from them for several days after the migraine would end....
Poor hubby and I finally gave up, I can't take any meds for pain or migraine (tried them all) I had to tough it out.
We are glad that is over.

Thanks for the input growviolets!
Pretty much the same here, they just stay painful and chronic to the point of not being able to function. Prior migraine meds just don't work anymore...
I sooooo hope they will be "Gone With The Uterus" next week.... HA HA!

Excited about heading to the Castle
My surgery is on Sept. 19 @ 9:15am. I too am looking forward to being past it.
I am so tired of the issues with my prolapse; can't wait for them to be gone.
Good luck to all and thank you Hyster Sisters, for the helpful information.
