Trivial questions

I'm sorry but I have to ask - will I be able to blow dry my hair and shave my legs?

I'm sure that after surgery these things will not seem important - but right now everything is going through my mind.

Thank you .

Love & Hugs,
Michelle

Trivial questions

I could not shave my legs for about a week, it was hard to bend down. Blow drying my hair was difficult to, just because of the pulling when I raised my arms. I had an abdominal incision. It is probably different for those who have it vaginally.

You're too funny! I wondered about stuff like that too.

The first four days I didn't care about my hair anywhere.

But after that I was able to blow dry (but you might want to have something at the ready like a stool to sit down). I also used the blow dryer for my incision site - it seemed more sterile than using a towel every day.

As for shaving, that might have to wait a little longer. I tended to be a little dizzy for the first week (even without taking narcotics) and didn't try it. I suppose if I had a tub where I could just sit on the side and do it that way I would have tried sooner. Definitely take it slow.

Trivial questions

Thank you Ladies .

I have this mental picture of me with huge , knotted hair after hubby has blow dried it for me...yikes !!!
I'm thinking I may be the ponytail queen for a few days.

Wow - won't I be a beauty - hairy legs ( and of course I bought capri p.j.'s - gotta show off the stubble ) , out of control hair , and enormous swelly belly.

Good grief

Love & Hugs,
Michelle

I have one solution

OK as far as washing the hair. Go to your hairdresser and explain that you are about to have surgery and ask her to get you a waterless shampoo. One you don't have to rinse out. Then when you feel you need it get DH or whoever is available to massage your head with it. That head massage feels great. As far as the shaving thing ok well that is one I wouldn't worry about too much till your ready. Blowing the hair dry see if you can get somebody to help you. I always love for people to brush my hair it makes me feel good.

You girls are too funny, I just got an image of being a ponytail princess and my hair is short on my head but you want to talk about out of control hair on my legs. Thanks for one heck of a good laugh.

I'm having a LAVH on Sept. 8 - and I never thought about that! But, you know, that's an interesting thought. I'm sure I won't look presentable for at least a week, and I dread trying to shave my legs after the stubble is so thick!

Good luck with yours - and wish me luck with mine. I'm getting nervous.

Wait a minute I thought of something

I saw this comercial on tv the other day that has some type of lotion that is put on your legs and a thingie that looks like a razor that has no blades but its plastic. You could get DH to help you with that I think it is in the nair family or something. You could just sit on the tub or toilet with the stuff on your legs till yoru helper can just use that little thingie to wipe the hair off.

I needed a good laugh today . Big hugs to all of my sisters !!

My daughter ( she's 14) said she has a fear of coming from school after my Hyst and seeing me with all of my brushes stuck in my hair ( it's almost to the middle of my back ) and 25 band aids on my legs - where Dad tried to help me look presentable. LOL !!!

Ginger - I will be thinking of you too Lots of luck and get well hugs.

Love & Hugs,
Michelle
