Burning/ Pulling type pain - 11 days post vaginal hysterectomy

I have been experiencing a burning and pulling type pain all morning. As well as a constant ache on right side of lower back. I am assuming this is normal but since all of my incisions are internal I can't see what is going on with those. I have not taken any pain medication yet today. I am just trying to alternate tylenol and advil. I don't really feel gassy and definitely not constipated. No bleeding but do have a yellowish sticky discharge with no odor. Any suggestions?

Re: Burning/ Pulling type pain - 11 days post vaginal hysterectomy

Do you think a stronger pain med would put a dent in it? I tried to get off the narcotics too soon, started hurting more and decided not to be SuperGal - back on them I went.

Don't write off that it's not digestive. I was making BMs daily, yet still had digestive issues which I had to stay on top of with the proper foods (foods with fiber, magnesium and plenty of water).

But yes, it could be just normal healing. Healing comes in stages with earlier scar tissue dissolving and being replaces by newer tissue. It's during that time we can feel twinges. I never had burning pain, but did have crampy feelings - and I could see what I describe as crampy someone else might call burning.

Continue to rest, ice and adhere to restrictions. If you have any lingering doubts, it's okay to call your doc's office. You're still their patient, they'll know the questions to ask, and if all is well it'll give you peace of mind.
