Sex, not a horror story! after hysterectomy

I remember when I was early in recover, reading some awful experiences with sex and getting terrified. Well, I had my checkup last week and everything was healed so today, at 7 weeks post surgery, I decided it was time.

And it went great! I had only a little pain and that was from not having had sex for ages (think back to that first time) But the pain from that eased up pretty quickly. I had no soreness in my cuff. None! I was so happy, relieved, pleasantly surprised!

There is just so much uncertainty wrapped up in this surgery. Fears about the changes our bodies go through, fears about intimacy, weight, all of that. I wanted to share my positive experience for those of you worrying, We took it slow and gentle and it was better than before surgery!

Thank you so much for sharing your story and giving hope to those of us who are still "waiting" and/or are not cleared yet. I will be waiting until 8 weeks as my cuff apparently likes to heal slowly. Another 10 days or so and then hopefully I can have a positive story to share, too. Thanks again and congrats!!!!

Thank you for the positive news. The stories that I have read on here are so scary. I am hoping when I am cleared my story will mimic yours. Thanks again.
