10 days post op robotic hysterectomy ... should I still have shooting pain on right side?

Hello Everyone.

I am 50 years old and had my robotic hysterectomy last Monday March 14, 2016 due to high grade precancerous cells in my cervix. I had my cervix, uterus and both tubes removed. I was able to keep both of my ovaries. I still am experiencing dull pain all across my belly, major belly swelling and shooting pain throughout the day on my right side. I'm certain these are all normal symptoms from surgery and will get better in time. I'm still doing my incentive spirometer, but not faithfully 10 every hour they told me too. I am not sure if that is necessary that often, and for how long do I have to keep that up? They told me til my follow up apt, but that is not until after 3wks post op, April 5th. any advice please.

I am 5 1/2 weeks post op from same surgery except i had my ovaries removed.I only had to breath into it until I was up moving around. I never used it once I left the hosiptal. I still occasionally get a pain on my right side if I move wrong or overdo it that day. Yours also could be ovary pain.
I too still have swelly belly some days but is much better now. I ice mine at nights still sometimes.

Okay .. great info. thank you ! They told me to keep using that, but I feel fine and I m up and around just fine. However, I do notice the days I over do it and then I have more pain. I have never tried the Ice on my belly yet. Think I will try that if it helps ! Thank you so much !!!!

Yes the pain on my right side lasted about 3 weeks or so.
