I don't know what the criteria for packing/no packing are, but I know that I didn't have any. I had LAVH, too. It may just be a personal preference of the doctor.

I also had LAVH on 1-27-04, just a few days ago! Had left ovary removed also! I didn't have any packing done, so like one sister said, that may be just a doc preference. I went in Tues at 5:45 am and returned home Thursday morning @ 9:30 am. I used the morphine pump only a few times, but by Wed. morning, they switched me to oral meds, no more catheter, and walking the halls. I was ready to head home Thurs. morning as the roommate they stuck me with, drove me crazy! I know everyone has different pain tolerances, but this woman, whined...continually...not just about pain, but about everything!!! Ugghh! I think my roommate was the worst part of my LAVH! So, don't worry about your procedure, I'm sure all will be fine as you'll have plenty of prayers and hugs sent your way! Just maybe say an extra prayer about your future roommate! Ha! Ha!
