Staples

Yay! Staples come out today!

Why do some people have staples and some don't? Is it just surgeon preference or is there some logical reason? I had myself all prepared for staples and then didn't have any. Didn't have anything visible - just a narrow little seam where the incision was.

totally based on surgeon & type of surgery.

I had internal staples with surgical glue so nothing on the outside to remove -- all dissolving.

I have internal, dissolving sutures, and then staples on the outer incision.

I've been forewarned that when the dissolvable stitches actually start dissolving, I may experience discomfort....backaches, bladder frequency/urgency, more vaginal discharge. As long as it means I'm healing, I'll deal with it.
