What if the endo isn't that bad when they open me up?

Hi ladies, (Pregnancy and baby mentioned)

I have a fear that when my doc opens me up he will find that the endo isn't that bad and question why we did this. A little history: I had a lap in Jan 05 that showed tons of adhesions and a lot of endo. I got pg right after that but lost our little angel in March 05. The endo pain came back with a vengence right after that. I knew a tah was in the future. I got pg in July 05 with our little girl who was born this past April. The endo pain is coming back, but not as bad yet. I just know it is on its way. I guess I would rather get it done now when she is still little, I have help over the summer and it just feels like the right time. I know my fear is silly but I just do not want anyone to think that I jumped the gun.

Lynnerbug,

Do not worry what other people think. You're the one who has to go through all the pain. Even small amounts of endo can be debilitating. I understand your worries, though. I posted a similar question the other day. I'm afraid that I'll get my uterus taken out and then be told it was perfectly normal (they are thinking I have adenomyosis due to chronic pain) Hystersisters very rightly told me that all that would indicate is how much docs still don't understand about what makes the uterus work or not work. Just because it looked normal doesn't mean it is. That level of constant pain is not normal. Hang in there.

I had the same question asked of me by my doctor before the surgery if I still wanted everything out. I told him that I'm not going through this for nothing and to take it all out.
