2 weeks post op
Had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. Have felt pretty good so far. Not quite sure what I should or should not be doing other than no lifting. Interested in others progress

Re: 2 weeks post op
At two weeks you still shouldn't be doing much of anything. I started to think I was superwoman and paid for it royally the next day each and every time I overdid it.
I'm 3 weeks now and feel like it's two different worlds, but I've gone back to work (yesterday for a half day, a little longer today) and even though my energy levels seem high at home, at work it's a completely different story.
Keep walking as much as possible (hopefully more often now that it's Spring most everywhere but here!), you can pick up around the house but be careful of what you lift and how you twist.
Basically your body will tell you when you're overdoing it. I've noticed that when my walk turns into more of a shuffle, I need to quit for a while. Unfortunately I didn't realize that until yesterday! When I was two weeks out, I didn't know I overdid it until the next day when I was miserable and couldn't move!
This is one of those things where we all heal differently and what others say is specific to THEM, not specific to you. So just listen to your body and if you start to feel achey or a little pain, give yourself a chance to rest until you feel "normal" again.
Happy Post-Op to you and WELCOME!!!

Check out the Hysterectomy Checkpoints for things you can do or should be expecting.
Also you can join the Recovery Progress Thread for others having surgery at the same time as you. Here's a link to that thread:
