Upcoming TVH and bladder sling

I am having a bladder sling and a tvh and keeping my ovaries. 2/8/2010. Very nervous. I am supposed to go on a trip 12 days post op. It is not far from home and it is light walking and no work. Wonder how I am going to feel by then. Anyone have a similar experience. My OB says I should be fine but my Gynourologist said no way.

Re: Upcoming TVH and bladder sling

Hi trunt
Welcome to Hystersisters! Your surgery is coming right up. I have a bit of concern over your trip. You might be up to it, but you also might not and I'm concerned that you might not. Is this a trip you have to take? I hope you'll be honest with yourself about how you feel and not push yourself to do this if you're not up to it.

One thing I experienced was a lot of discomfort sitting, especially in the car. It helps to recline the seat a bit, if that's possible in your vehicle and still be safe with your seatbelt on. We're all different in how we feel and how we heal, but listen to your drs and be wise. I hope everything goes well for you.
